Back to Anniversary Weekend
Check out the Photos from the Acceptance Show, the first show of the season, in Comox. It features everything that will be here July 4-5.
All Vintage aircraft will be participating in the Gate Cermony on Saturday, July 4th including the Lancaster, C-GVRA. They will be available for viewing as a static displays on Sunday, July 5th.
The Avro Lancaster, which ran on four Merlin engines, proved to be a classic. The Aircraft typically carried a 14,000 pound bombload (about two and one half tons MORE than the American B-17G Flying Fortess bomber). Later versions of the Lancaster could lift the massive 12,000 pound "Tall Boy" and the 22,000 pound "Grand Slam" bombs!
This Lancaster Aircraft, affectionately named the "Mynarski Lancaster" after Canadian Victoria Cross recipient Andrew Mynarski. This Aircraft is in the wartime colours and markings of Mynarski's 419 Moose Squadron Aircraft.
Click on the pictures for more information about each aircraft.
